Project CERES Marks its Fifth Year

Project CERES has awarded funding to six projects for 2017-2018; in addition, a special project has been funded by the United States Agricultural Information Network (USAIN). Now in its fifth year, the three partners: the USAIN, the Agriculture Network Information Collaborative (AgNIC), and CRL have awarded approximately $250,000 to small projects that preserve historical U.S. agricultural serials and make those materials accessible through digitization. 

Project CERES 2017-18 participants were chosen by a subcommittee of the USAIN Preservation and Digital Library Committee.  The subcommittee was chaired by Joel Cummings of Washington State University.

Project CERES Proposals Funded for 2017-2018:

  • Colorado State University: Preservation of Colorado Agriculture Literature, Colorado County Agent Annual Reports, Second Phase

  • Cornell University, The Rural New Yorker

  • Mississippi State University,  Digitization of Agricultural Economics Publications

  • North Carolina State University,  Digitization of North Carolina Cooperative Extension Series Publications

  • University of Arkansas, Digitization of Arkansas Extension MP (Miscellaneous Publications)

  • University of Florida, Preserving Florida’s Agricultural History: Digitization of The Florida Cattleman & Livestock Journal

The special related project funded by USAIN is: California State University – Fresno, V.E. Petrucci Library Grape and Wine Research Gray Literature.
