Lending to Global Member Libraries

CRL provides access to CRL collections and services for educational institutions located outside North America that maintain a global CRL membership. Materials are available for lengthy loan periods, subject to recall only if requested by another member institution.

Access to CRL Collections

Items from CRL’s collection of over 3.5 million microform resources can be loaned to patrons at global member libraries for a period of 90 days, renewable on request.Global member libraries are required to pay all shipping costs and any applicable customs fees.

See Submitting Requests for more information.

Digital Delivery

Loan requests are filled by digital processing whenever possible. Most materials can be scanned within five business days (for instance requests for a single volume or reel of microfilm).  If digitization will take longer, CRL will notify the requesting library. CRL provides a URL for the completed PDF document with searchable text, linked from the CRL catalog record and WorldCat. See also digitization services (link to page) for more information.
