Publications proscribed by the government of India.

GUIDE: Publications proscribed by the government of India, a Catalogue of the collections in India Office Library and Records and the Dept. of Oriental Manuscripts and Printed Books. The set reproduces over 1,600 items banned by the British Government in India prior to 1947. The collections include material in English and the vernacular languages of India. An index is included on the reels.

These are political party platform statements from the 1967 general election. The Center acquired these through the cooperation of the Foreign Area Materials Center of the State University of New York. The materials are cataloged separately under the name of the party:

The Center has been receiving government documents through the Foreign Acquisition Program since 1958 from the Indian central government and by the various states; from Bangladesh since its establishment as an independent state; from Pakistan and Sri Lanka since 1964; and from Nepal from 1966 to date. Most of the Center's holdings are not cataloged, but are shelved in the foreign documents collection by issuing agency and title.
