2011 Purchase Proposal ProgramNov 1 2010
Voting has begun on the CRL FY2011 Purchase Proposal program. Through this program, CRL libraries prioritize microform and reprint collections for CRL to acquire. The collections are then added to the CRL collection and are available for interlibrary loan to all CRL libraries. This year CRL has allocated $135,000 for purchase of materials under this program.
Nominations this year include include microform sets of Israeli newspaper ha-Arets, Chinese newspaper Xin Wen Bao, and Russian-Ottoman Relations: Printed Works in Western Languages (pictured). In response to strong interest expressed by members last year, this year’s ballot includes nine electronic resources, including offers for Times of India; Foreign Office Files for India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan; and Electronic Enlightenment.
The ballot coordinator at each CRL library will soon receive an e-mail message, containing both the URL for the online ballot and a unique, institution-specific username and password. If your institution has not received this message by Friday, November 5, please let us know as soon as possible.
Please vote by Monday, November 22, to enable CRL to take full advantage of this year’s pricing and to provide advance information on CRL acquisitions for your own institutional planning.
If you have any questions or problems, or for any reason will not be able to honor the deadline, please contact mwilke [at] crl [dot] edu (Mary Wilke.)
