Directions

CRL is located in Chicago on the University of Chicago campus in the Woodlawn neighborhood. We are on the northwest corner of East 61st Street and Kenwood Avenue, midway between Cottage Grove and Stony Island Avenues.

Driving Directions

From the Dan Ryan Expressway (I90 & I94)

Exit at Garfield Blvd. Eastbound. Follow the signs due east to the University of Chicago Campus – Midway Plaisance (59th Street). Proceed approximately ½ mile east of Cottage Grove Avenue to the stoplight at Dorchester Street. Turn right (south) on Dorchester and proceed approximately two blocks to 61st Street. Turn right (west) on 61st, and go one block to Kenwood. CRL is the large building enclosed by a black wrought iron fence on the northwest corner of Kenwood and 61st. Park either in the cul-de-sac in front of the building or in the lot in the rear.

From Lake Shore Drive

Exit at 57th street (at the Museum of Science and Industry). Follow the street as it goes west then south until you reach a branching of the roadway with a sign directing to the University of Chicago (59th Street – Midway Plaisance). Stay to the right and proceed west past a stoplight (Stony Island Avenue), under the Metra tracks, to the second stoplight (Dorchester). Turn left (south) on Dorchester and proceed approximately two blocks to 61st Street. Turn right (west) on 61st, and go one block to Kenwood. CRL is the large building enclosed by a black wrought-iron fence on the northwest corner of Kenwood and 61st. Park either in the cul-de-sac in front of the building or in the lot in the rear.

Taxi

The fare from downtown Chicago should be approximately $20.

CTA Bus

Catch the #6 Jackson Park Express bus southbound anywhere along State Street. The fare is $2.25; exit at Stony Island and 60th Street. From that corner, walk west one block on 60th Street past Dorchester Avenue to Kenwood Avenue. Turn left (south) and walk past the two very large buildings on the left and right. (The street is a cul-de-sac, but the sidewalk continues.) The second large building on the right, with no windows on the upper floors and enclosed in a black wrought iron fence, is CRL. METRA

Train service originates at the Millennium Station at Randolph and Michigan Avenues downtown. Take the Metra Electric line to the 59th Street station.
