Join CRL for the 2013 Annual Council Meeting, which will be held on the web. The meeting consists of two parts:

The main annual CRL governance event, at which designated representatives of CRL libraries review new and ongoing CRL initiatives, elect new Board members, and vote on the annual budget for the coming fiscal year:

Collections Forum on Science, Technology, and Engineering

1:00–4:00 p.m. Central Time

The Collections Forum will focus on CRL’s Global Resources Partnership in Science, Technology and Engineering with the Linda Hall Library. The rich historical collections of Linda Hall are now available to researchers through CRL libraries. The session will highlight strengths of the Linda Hall collections, survey the uses of historical STE materials in new research, and examine how Linda Hall and CRL are working together to preserve and further develop print research collections in the fields of science, technology, and engineering.

  • 1:40–2:20 p.m.  Recent Trends in Research in the Field of the History of Science

    Stephen P. Weldon, Assistant Professor of the History of Science,  University of Oklahoma, and editor of the Isis Current Bibliography of the History of Science  

Recent developments in the methods and the content of research in the history of science, based on data from the Isis Bibliography, and notable differences in digitally based research and hard copy based research.

  • 2:20–3:00 p.m.  Access to Historical STE Materials in the U.S. and Canada: Trends in Collecting, Archiving, and Digitization

  • 3:00–4:00 p.m.  Strategic Priorities for the Global Resources STE Partnership
