Collection comes from the Corvey Library (Fürstlichen Bibliothek Corvey) and consists of German-language pamphlets critical of Napoléon. These pamphlets in prose and verse, written from 1813-1815, offer an interesting glimpse of German sentiment towards this giant in French and European history.

Most of the titles were published in Europe with France predominate although there are ten titles from the United States and one from South Africa. This set has attempted to provide the basic literature on certain key themes in the history of European Freemasonry: its origins, rituals, myths and symbols, its every-day practices, anti-Freemasonry, the role of women, Freemasonry and the French Revolution and a sampling of nineteenth century Masonic literature drawn especially from Germany where Freemasonry remained very strong.
