Bernard F. Reilly
Bernard F. Reilly is President of the Center for Research Libraries. He has written and spoken widely on issues surrounding the integrity and survival of critical documentation and evidence. Since 2001 he has led the growth and expansion of CRL as an international consortium devoted to supporting advanced research in the humanities, sciences and social sciences. Reilly was previously Director of Research and Access at the Chicago History Museum, where he directed digitization and dissemination of the CHM library, archives, and architecture, audio, television, and photography collections. From 1987 until 1997 Reilly served as Head of the Curatorial Section in the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress.
Vice President, Collections and Services
James Simon is Vice President of Collections and Services at the Center for Research Libraries. In this position, he coordinates CRL departments that build and care for CRL collections and that directly serve CRL members and constituencies: International Resources, Access Services, Stack Management, Facilities, and Technical Services. Simon is also the director of the Global Resources Network, a collaborative initiative of the major North American universities and research libraries to promote the widespread availability and exchange of knowledge and source materials for international studies. Simon is responsible for the coordination of such programs as the World Newspaper Archive, the Digital South Asia Library, the International Coalition on Newspapers, and the Area Materials Projects of the Center. Prior to his appointment in 1998, Simon worked in Washington, DC for the International Research & Exchanges Board where he was Program Officer for scholarly exchanges and cooperative partnerships with Russian and Slavic organizations.
Director of Human Resources
Toni Kibort is Director of Human Resources at CRL. She is responsible for providing day-to-day and strategic Human Resource services and support. Prior to joining CRL in 2003, she was an independent HR consultant for a broad range of clients, including Motorola, Discover Financial Services, and the Federal Home Loan Bank. Other previous positions include Manager of Human Resources for Metamor Global Solutions; Recruitment Manager for Kanbay, Inc.; and Director of Resources for Real Estate Research Corporation.
