“Inquiry documents”: special reports and studies, 1917-1919

NARA Microfilm Publications: M1107. Contains records of the American Commission to Negotiate Peace, established by President Woodrow Wilson following the signing of the Armistice ending World War I (Nov. 11, 1918). The Inquiry was a group of experts organized in the autumn of 1917 to investigate geographical, ethnological, economic, historic, and political problems of Europe in preparation for the anticipated peace conference. Ceased to exist effective with the convening of the peace conference in January 1919.

Roll 1 contains numerical list and subject list of 1019 inquiry documents included in the set.
