Description
The Open Journals Collective (OJC) is an international collective of scholars, libraries, and university-based publishers. OJC believes that academic research should be available to all, with no author fees and no paywalls. Their mission is to build a sustainable future for academic journals by challenging the profit-making models of global corporate publishing and data systems.
Through this partnership, CRL/NERL members and affiliates can invest in membership with OJC to support the first 3 collections to luanching January 1, 2026:
- The Multidisciplinary Collection
- The Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Collection
- The Science, Engineering, Technology, & Maths Collect

Standard pricing for Library Members is based on FTE. Those wishing to provide additional investment can elect to join under one of four higher-tier membership rates. All memberships are priced by collection. CRL and NERL members will receive a 10% discount when joining through CRL.
Memberships can be be purchased for one-year or three-year renewable cycles.
CRL Members and NERL Core members can participate without any additional consortial fees.. Non-members and NERL affiliates may also participate by paying a flat $500 fee to cover consortium overhead costs.
