The Center for Research Libraries wrapped up its annual governance cycle on May 6, 2026, with a board meeting and annual business meeting of CRL voting representatives, the body through which member institutions exercise their voice in the organization's future.
Members of the Executive Committee were elected to new terms. Composed of the organization's officers, the Executive Committee is empowered to act on behalf of the Board between meetings and plays a central role in organizational oversight and governance.
Incoming Executive Committee:
- Larry Alford, Chair
- Angi Faiks, Vice Chair
- Devin Savage, Secretary
- Matthew Sheehy, Treasurer
At the annual business meeting, voting members approved CRL's FY27 budget and elected five new Directors to the Board, with strong participation from library directors across the membership on the Nominating Committee.
Incoming Directors:
- Charlie Barlow, Boston Library Consortium
- Lisa Carter, University of Michigan
- Todd Grappone, UC Santa Barbara
- Melissa Levine, Independent (Law & Copyright)
- Boaz Nadav-Manes, Lehigh University
Janet Bishop of The Claremont Colleges and Devin Savage of Illinois Institute of Technology will continue for second terms.
The approved budget advanced a new strategy the Board adopted in February, designed to keep CRL positioned to act on opportunities in sync with its FY27-30 strategic plan.
