Collaborative Digitization

CRL is open to partnerships that result in digitization of materials of interest to our membership.

In 2005 CRL’s Collections & Services Policy Committee (CSPC) developed a guidelines document to serve as an initial framework for CRL's evolving digitization strategies. These guidelines articulate principles for agreements undertaken by CRL with any commercial vendors for digitizing CRL collections.

The guidelines document can be found here.

CRL digitization initiatives have involved partnerships with the Linda Hall Library and commercial publishers such as Readex and ProQuest.

Also, CRL works with specialists at member libraries help CRL identify materials for digitization. Priority is given to primary sources that will have a measurable impact on research, and those potentially at risk through physical damage or hostile political environments.
