Global Resources Winter Newsletter Available

Please join the Center’s board and staff in welcoming Oklahoma State University as a new Voting member, effective January 1, 2005. Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and includes auxiliary campuses in Oklahoma City and Okmulgee.

Lighting Upgrade Grant

December 21, 2004

The Center has been awarded an Illinois Clean Energy grant of $56,400 to upgrade and modernize the Center’s lighting system on all four floors. The Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, a subsidiary of Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), invests in clean energy development and land preservation efforts to improve environmental quality in Illinois. The grant will enable the Center to upgrade 1,295 fixtures with energy-efficient lamps and install motion-activated on/off switching in the storage areas.

The Center for Research Libraries is pleased to share a detailed list of items on this year's Purchase Proposal Ballot. Voting members have until December 2, 2004 to return their ballot.

The Center is pleased to welcome as new members the following colleges and universities. Six of them belong to the MINITEX consortium and five belong to the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM). College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN

The newsletter features a preview of upcoming GRN activities and an update on each of the projects.

Streamlining the Catalog Search

Finding primary resource materials for advanced research is now easy and fast with Catalog Search, the newly redesigned search feature on the Center’s Web site.

The Center Web site is now more printer friendly, due to a newly designed print style sheet. Simply select the desired page and choose PRINT from your browser window.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has awarded the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) a grant of $350,000, for continued support of the International Coalition on Newspapers project (ICON).
