TRAIL Information and Update Session 27 Jan 2013 - 10:30am

The Technical Report Archive and Image Library (TRAIL) will hold an Information and Update session Sunday, January 27, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at ALA Midwinter in Seattle.
The Print Archive Network (PAN) Meeting at ALA is a semi-annual forum for discussion of Print Archiving activities across the United States and Canada. 
Presenters will discuss evolving models of access to electronic news resources and scholars' changing research practices. CRL will update members on its strategy for ensuring access to current and historical news.
A two-day invitational conference at Duke University will explore connections between global scholarship and the collective ability of research libraries to support it.
CAMP (Cooperative Africana Materials Project) will hold its fall business meeting in Philadelphia on November 30, 2012.

The Middle East Microform Project (MEMP) will hold its annual business meeting on Thursday, November 15, at the St. Cajetans Conference Center in Denver.
Text mining helps researchers extract valuable information and data from large bodies of text, but presents formidable technical and intellectual property challenges for libraries. This CRL webinar, featuring presenters from Elsevier and Gale Cengage, explores recent trends in text mining and how academic publishers and libraries are responding.
This CRL-sponsored panel, featuring representatives from repositories, database publishers, and research libraries, will explore what is needed to achieve sustainable archiving of digital materials, and potential near-future innovations.
This webinar surveys accessibility of sources in law and government in the light of current research interests. Speakers will assess the coverage of legacy materials in subscription databases; the scope of the GPO's FDsys repository; and prospects for access to documents from international sources.
