CAMP Preserves Mololi NewspaperSet 7 2012
CAMP (Cooperative Africana Materials Project) has microfilmed the newspaper Mololi, published in Maseru, Lesotho. The Kingdom of Lesotho, which is completely surrounded by South Africa, gained its independence from the British in 1966.
Mololi, a weekly publication of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD), represents the LCD party’s point of view on the issues of the day. CAMP has holdings for June 1997 to September 2011, when the LCD was Lesotho’s ruling party. The newspaper is written primarily in the Sesotho language, although several articles and advertisements are in English.
Yale University contributed most of the holdings for this microfilming project. Northwestern University and the Library of Congress Nairobi Field Office sent additional issues from their collections.
