Deadline Extended for 2015 Purchase Proposal ProgramOut 1 2014
Many major microform sets and multi-volume print publications are too costly for individual institutions to acquire, and are not readily available through interlibrary loan. Each year, CRL purchases microform and published print collections nominated by member libraries. In August and September, CRL voting member libraries nominate these collections, and vote on the collections nominated to determine which items CRL acquires.
CRL now invites nominations for this year’s voting. All CRL libraries may propose collections for purchase under this program. Last year’s voting resulted in the purchase of eight new sets with a total list price value of $125,886, including the German journal Daheim (right).
CRL has now sent passwords to access the online nomination form to a contact person at each CRL institution. To find out the name of your institution's contact, or if your institution did not receive a password, please email Mary Wilke.
The deadline for FY15 Purchase Proposal nominations has been extended to October 7, 2014.
More information on the Purchase Proposal Program can be found in the Collection Building section of CRL’s website. CRL has also recently released a short “how-to” video on the Purchase Proposal Program, which outlines the steps for nominations and voting, on its YouTube channel.
