PAN Midwinter 2024

The Print Archive Network (PAN) Forum is a free and open venue for information sharing about shared print programs. CRL supports this work to promote opportunities for libraries and consortia to share information, expertise, and best practices on shared print and the collection lifecycle. PAN Midwinter 2024 will be held online. All those with an interest in shared print are welcome to attend and participate.
We are excited to welcome to the CIFNAL Speaker Series Eva Jurczyk and Daniel Godefroy to speak on "Access to Literature by Black Canadians." 
Join CRL on Thursday, September 28, for the second community-wide convening of CRL’s process to strengthen and reinvest in global collections. Educopia project leads, Jessica Meyerson and Katherine Kim, will introduce Impact and Sustainability sprint team members to discuss work accomplished through the summer.  This community-wide convening will accomplish the following objectives:

TRAIL Information & Update Session

TRAIL (Technical Report Archive & Image Library) will hold an Information and Update session from 2:00-3:00 pm Central Time on Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Chicago, IL in conjunction with the ALA Annual Meeting.  The session will be held at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. Lincoln Park Boardroom.    

PAN Annual 2023

The Center for Research Libraries sponsors the Print Archive Network Forum (PAN), a biannual meeting held in conjunction with ALA conferences, to share information, expertise and best practices about strategic management of print archive programs. PAN invites libraries and consortia of all sizes to participate.

TRAIL Annual Meeting 2023

Wednesday, June 7, 2023 - 8:00am to Thursday, June 8, 2023 - 5:00am

Please join the Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL) Project on Wednesday - Thursday, June 7-8, 2023  for the 2023 TRAIL Annual Meeting.  This meeting will be hybrid, held in-person for the first time since 2019 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA and online. Please share the news with interested colleagues. 
Join CRL on Wednesday, May 31, for the first community-wide convening of CRL’s process to strengthen and reinvest in global collections. This convening will provide an opportunity for the community to debrief on findings from Phase 1 (Discovery). The Educopia project leads Jessica Meyerson and Katherine Kim will facilitate community conversation and share their analysis of data collected through a robust series of focus groups and targeted interviews.

In 2020, the CRL Collections and Services Policy Committee (CSPC) conducted a survey of CRL members, which made clear that the CRL community places global collections at the top of their expressed priorities for our consortia. In 2021, CRL’s International Collections and Content Group (ICCG) issued a Call to Action, which reaffirmed our community’s commitment to global collections, programming, and services.

The 2022 CRL Diversity as Knowledge will explore how centering diversity, inclusivity, and equity in research libraries has implications for enriching the sources for knowing, the ways of knowing, and the quality of knowledge production itself.

PAN Annual 2022

CRL promotes opportunities for libraries and consortia to share information, expertise, and best practices for print preservation and management. The Print Archive Network (PAN) Forum is a free and open venue for information sharing about shared print programs. All those with an interest in shared print are welcome to attend and participate. PAN Annual 2022 will be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The forum is shortened to two hours to ensure a lively event. It will be recorded for later viewing on CRL's YouTube Channel.  For ongoing communications about the PAN Forum, please join the PAN listserv. Past event pages for PAN presentations and program reports are collected and archived. Older PAN presentations and updates are available in our PAN Event Index. The PAN archive provides access to older content contributed to PAN from 2009 to 2010.
Charlotte Denoël, Chief Curator of the Bibliothèque nationale de France's Manuscripts Department, presents on the Bibliothèque's collections and programs.
Quinn Dombrowski (Academic Technology Specialist in the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages, and in the Library, at Stanford University) presents as part of CIFNAL's ongoing spring speaker series.
