Products of the Global Resources Forum, CRL topic guides provide insights on source materials for research in broad collection areas of special interest to CRL libraries. Some guides focus on materials for the study of specific world regions, like Africa and the Middle East. Others focus on materials for research on particular subjects, such as human rights, agriculture, and water resources. Still others deal with types of documentation and source materials, such as newspapers, public opinion data, and government-produced information.
Newer CRL topic guides provide a broad overview of the current “landscape” of production and dissemination of materials in a given field. The newer guides also list relevant online resources, including references to related digital collections. Topic guides are often released to supplement subject-oriented Global Resources Forum webinars, offered several times a year by CRL.
