Many major microform sets and collections are too costly for individual institutions to acquire, and are often not readily available through interlibrary loan. Each year, CRL purchases microform and published print collections nominated by member libraries. In August and September, CRL voting member libraries nominate collections for CRL purchase, then vote on the collections nominated to determine which items CRL acquires.
CRL is now soliciting nominations for this year’s voting. All CRL libraries are eligible to nominate collections for purchase under this program. Last year’s voting resulted in the purchase of ten new sets with a total with a total list price value of $339,469. (One item, Archivo General de Centro America, above, is being purchased in three parts because of its cost.)
CRL has sent passwords to access the online nomination form to a contact person at each CRL institution. To obtain the name of your institution's contact, or if your institution did not receive a password, please email Mary Wilke.
The deadline for FY13 Purchase Proposal nominations will close September 30, 2012.
