CRL announces the election of two new board members and additions to the Collections and Services Policy Committee.

SAMP has acquired 84 microfilm reels containing issues of Ceylon Times from 1924 to 1930.

LAMP has acquired a microfilm collection of approximately 88,000 pages of manuscript songs, legends, nursery rhymes, and traditional stories from rural Argentina.

 TRAIL has digitized over 20,000 U.S. federal technical reports, including documents produced by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, which was responsible for the peacetime use of atomic science and technology from 1946 until 1974. Much of this information is extremely valuable today in light of the recent nuclear disaster in Japan.

A 2011 CRL report produced for the Library of Congress gives an overview of news workflow and production systems and insights on the new “lifecycle” of news content.  

GNARP’s Librarian Exchanges Working Group has solicited reports from North American librarians who have done library-related travel in German-speaking countries, and librarians from German-speaking countries who have done a library exchange in North America.

The Global Resources Forum, a CRL program to support collection decision-making and strategic action for research libraries,  now has a new section on the CRL website with helpful tools for collection-management decisions, including major database reviews and repository profiles.

Five collections have been announced as possibilities for purchase on this year’s Shared Purchase ballot. The ballot deadline has been extended to April 6.

CRL has completed cataloging of more than 30,000 titles from South and Southeast Asia.
