This debut issue of the Global Resources newsletter reflects the vision and commitment of a newly formed partnership composed of the Association of American Universities (AAU), Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL). The newsletter features a preview of upcoming GRN activities and an update on each of the projects.
Finding primary resource materials for advanced research is now easy and fast with Catalog Search, the newly redesigned search feature on the Center’s Web site.
The Center Web site is now more printer friendly, due to a newly designed print style sheet. Simply select the desired page and choose PRINT from your browser window.

The 55th annual meeting of the Center’s Council of Voting Members will be held on Friday, April 23, 2004. The meeting will feature the session, Building Blocks of a National Print Preservation Network: A Strategic Forum.

DATAD Workshop

DATAD announces workshop titled Intellectual Property, Governance, Dissemination, and Funding Strategies, February 19-20, 2004 in Accra, Ghana.
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has awarded the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) a grant of $350,000, for continued support of the International Coalition on Newspapers project (ICON).
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded a grant of $510,000 to the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) to support strategic initiatives in cataloging, the development of distributed print archives, and cooperative collection development.
Bernard F. Reilly, Jr., has been appointed President of the Center for Research Libraries.
Melissa D. Trevvett, Associate Dean at Loyola University Libraries, has been appointed Vice President and Director of Programs and Services at the Center for Research Libraries.
The Center for Research Libraries has received a $50,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in support of two important projects dealing with the management of its collections and their increased use by scholars.
CRL has officially launched the Digital South Asia Library, a global effort to make rare and important resources available to the international community.
The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) is providing three new tools on its website to make information about its collections more accessible to research scholars and library staff personnel.
The Center for Research Libraries is pleased to announce that the American Library Association (ALA) has awarded Angela M. Falsey its Christopher J. Hoy/ERT Scholarship.

JSTOR Archive Begun
