East View Information Services and the Center for Research Libraries have launched East Asian Newspapers, the second in-copyright collection of titles digitized under the Global Press Archive CRL Alliance. East African Newspapers follows Middle Eastern and North African Newspapers, the Alliance's first in-copyright collection, and is available to all Center for Research Libraries members and other institutions supporting the Alliance

CRL's newly appointed International Collections and Content Group (ICC) calls on the international library programs based at CRL to explore the challenges and opportunities in front of our communities and through that exploration, to consider new ways of working together. 

The Cooperative Africana Materials Project (CAMP) has preserved issues from 2010 to 2017 of the Zimbabwean newspaper NewsDay.

The CRL/East View Global Press Archive Charter Alliance will make 500,000 pages of unique and rarely-held titles from the Middle East and North Africa accessible for research opportunities.

The Law Library Microform Consortium (LLMC) has assembled from various sources and digitized Official Gazettes from several jurisdictions in Africa.

The Global Press Archive Charter Alliance will digitize and make available to all CRL member institutions 4.5 million pages of recent international newspaper content, with a significant portion of material to be made available in Open Access.

CRL voting member libraries have approved the acquisition of five primary source collections with an estimated list price value of $218,070. Once acquired, the collections will be available through interlibrary loan from CRL.

CRL voting member libraries have approved the acquisition of ten microform, reprint, and CD/DVD collections through the 2018 Purchase Proposal Program. List price value $132,538 (depending on the exchange rate). Once acquired, the collections will be available through interlibrary loan from CRL.  

The Law Library Microform Consortium (LLMC) has assembled from various sources and digitized an extensive collection of early laws, codes, and jurisprudence published in Africa from as early as 1698. This work was supported by CRL's partnership with LLMC, which funds digitization of collections of interest to CRL libraries and augments CRL collection strengths in area and international studies.

Readex's metadata for digitized newspapers provides valuable data on publication history and product coverage in key databases for academic research.

CRL's project to digitize documentation from ten African and Persian Gulf countries where the integrity of the public record is at risk has exceeded targets, and exposes collections never before accessible to North American scholars.

The Cooperative Africana Materials Project (CAMP) has microfilmed several newspaper titles from Cameroon.  Most holdings in this collection are from the mid-1990s.

CRL's digitization of foreign official gazettes will expose imrpotant documentation of non-transparent and "corrupt" governments. 

CRL recently reached a milestone: over six million pages of digitized pages scanned iin response to scholars’ requests for loan are now available to all CRL member institutions.
