TRAIL's Summer 2023 Newsletter

TRAIL (Technical Report Archive & Image Library) has released its Summer 2023 Newsletter.

East View Information Services and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) have launched Post-Perestroika Newspapers, the fourth in-copyright collection of titles digitized under the Global Press Archive(GPA) CRL Alliance and the first collection from Phase 2 of the program. Post-Perestroika joins three other in-copyright collections funded through the Alliance: 

CRL is pleased to announce that it is implementing FOLIO as its new library services platform, a direction that is tightly aligned with CRL’s core values of open infrastructure and responsible operations. Further complimenting these enhancements, a new online catalog will go live on June 15, 2022, bringing enhanced discovery experiences to online patrons and researchers.

Highlights from TRAIL's activities over the past few months, including an annual meeting follow-up.

The fifth installment of its kind, the collection encompasses over 265,000 digitized pages from 65 publications.

With issues dating back to the mid-1950s, the archive includes more than 440,000 pages from the Spanish-language daily newspaper.

The Imperial Russian Newspapers collection, part of the CRL/East View Global Press Archive Charter Alliance, extends open access worldwide to critical sources for the study of the Russian Empire from the eighteenth through early twentieth centuries.

The new position will leverage Abrams' expertise in digital curation and coalition building to advance CRL's collection programs and major collaborations focused on digital access to international resources for academic research and teaching.

TRAIL's Winter 2021 Newsletter

The Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL) has released its Winter 2021 Newsletter, containing timely updates about the program.

The archival collections of nine historic women from Brazil have been made openly accessible by the Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with financial support from the Center for Research Libraries.

CRL's partner LLMC has digitized many primary legal documents from the Berlin State Library, which are now available to CRL libraries.  These materials complement other German resources in LLMC's collection that were sourced from other libraries, including the University of Pennsylvania's Biddle Law Library, the Library of Congress, and many others.

As a research Library, CRL shares its members’ strong interest in access to contemporary news content to support research and teaching without geographic or linguistic limits.

CRL and East View Information Services have released the Independent and Revolutionary Mexican Newspapers, the third Open Access collection of titles digitized under the Global Press Archive (GPA) CRL Charter Alliance. This collection adds to the growing collection of Open Access material available through East View's Global Press Archive program.

The CRL Charter Alliance will deliver a substantial body of digital news content to users worldwide while three in-copyright collections negotiated by East View Information Services will  be made available to all CRL member institutions. 

CRL has reduced access barriers to nearly 10,000 titles previously digitized (in whole or in part) through on-demand and strategic scanning.

CRL has numerous online resources available to researchers and scholars working remotely.
