Voting Now Open for CRL Purchase of New CollectionsOct 31 2013
CRL’s Purchase Proposal Program is a key annual activity for building CRL collections. Member libraries nominate and vote on microform and hard copy collections, which are often too costly or esoteric for individual institutions to acquire, for CRL purchase.
A total of 18 microform and print sets nominated by members are on this year's ballot. Titles include: Records of the U.S. Indian Claims Commission from NARA; Records of the U.S. Nuremberg War Crimes Trials; and numerous newspapers and journals such as Argentinisches Tageblatt, Deutsche La Plata Zeitung, and Yi Shi Bao.
This year's Purchase Proposal ballot offers richer features for member input on the newly implemented eDesiderata platform. The designated contacts from each CRL voting member institution can cast votes online, and then revise their votes at any time until the extended ballot closing date: Tuesday, November 26. Additionally, this year other collection development librarians (as identified through CRL’s Contact Information System) may review and comment on the ballot using their CRL Login.
