Collaborative Initiative for French and North American Libraries

Regional and Local French Research Resources

Coordinator: Susanne Roberts, Yale University

The goal of this project is to assess North American libraries' coverage of regional and local French research resources. These are in the process of being identified and will include publications of learned societies, local institutions and associations, and specialized publishers. North American research institutions and academic libraries will cooperate to ensure comprehensive coverage of such materials as archival inventories and guides, periodicals, monographs, and other formats of value for research into the history and culture of France. The project is likely to begin with a smaller pilot project to develop methods for assessment and cooperation and test them in a single region or area.
