The Print Archives Network (PAN) forum is always held the Friday morning before ALA Midwinter and Annual conferences. All are welcome to attend and hear about new and best practices from the participating shared print initiatives.

CAMP Spring Meeting 25 Apr 2015 - 9:00am

The Cooperative Africana Materials Project (CAMP) will hold its Spring Business Meeting on Saturday, April 25, in Urbana, IL.
A forum on CRL cooperative collecting and licensing activities in three areas: science, technology and engineering; news; and law and government.
Save-the-date for CRL's 2015 Annual Council Meeting, which will be held as an online event.
In cooperation with the IFLA News Media Section, the Center for Research Libraries will convene representatives of national and academic libraries, commercial producers and aggregators of news content, and cultural and funding organizations to assess the state of international newspaper digitization and preservation, and to better align future library and commercial efforts, investment and funding in these areas.

The Southeast Asia Materials Project (SEAM) will hold its annual business meeting in conjunction with the Association for Asian Studies Conference in Chicago on March 25.
Ann Okerson, CRL senior advisor on electronic resources strategy and founder of Liblicense, will discuss the recent rewrite of the Liblicense Model License.  The Liblicense model is a rich source of information and guidance for libraries seeking to license digital resources for faculty, students, and researchers.
Previous CRL webinars on text and data mining indicated high interest among librarians in how researchers use big data and large bodies of text. This CRL webinar will delve into the challenges and practices of mining major sources of information on history, politics, trade, and development for research.
TRAIL (Technical Report Archive & Image Library) will hold an Information and Update session on Sunday, February 1, in Chicago.
Librarians and library staff visiting Chicago for the ALA Midwinter are invited to participate in a CRL collections and facility tour.
Join the Print Archives Network (PAN) for its semi-annual forum at Midwinter in Chicago on Friday, January 30, at McCormick Place, Room W187a, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

This CRL Text- and Data-Mining Webinar will explore how the Economist Intelligence Unit supports major academic research projects.
The Center for Research Libraries will present a 60-minute webinar on its Collections and Services on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Central Time. Participation in this event is open to all librarians, library staff, and faculty at CRL libraries.
This members-only webinar will describe CRL’s progress on strategies to address major preservation and access challenges in the news arena.
