2024 CRL Council of Voting Members Meeting

Research Integrity: The Center for Research Libraries at 75 
Join CRL on Thursday, September 28, for the second community-wide convening of CRL’s process to strengthen and reinvest in global collections. Educopia project leads, Jessica Meyerson and Katherine Kim, will introduce Impact and Sustainability sprint team members to discuss work accomplished through the summer.  This community-wide convening will accomplish the following objectives:

In 2020, the CRL Collections and Services Policy Committee (CSPC) conducted a survey of CRL members, which made clear that the CRL community places global collections at the top of their expressed priorities for our consortia. In 2021, CRL’s International Collections and Content Group (ICCG) issued a Call to Action, which reaffirmed our community’s commitment to global collections, programming, and services.

CRL Annual Council of Voting Members (Virtual)

Collections as Data: Cohort 2 Summative Forum

On November 11, Collections as Data: Part to Whole teams will deliver public final report outs. Presenters will (1) share their motivation for taking part in Collections as Data, (2) their project descriptions, (3) lessons learned that can benefit the wider community interested in this kind of work, and (4) next steps for their collections as data efforts. 2021 CRL Annual Council of Voting Members Meeting

The 2021 Annual Meeting will be a virtual one-day business meeting. Professor Michael Strevens of NYU will deliver a keynote address on his widely reviewed book, The Knowledge Machine (2020), placing his argument in the context of research libraries and archives. CRL will continue the theme of knowledge creation in our CRL programming, leading up to the 2022 CRL Annual Meeting, "Diversity as Knowledge."
The CDL, CRL, HathiTrust Shared Print Collaboration presents the upcoming release of an openly accessible collection comparison tool. Presenters will demonstrate the collection comparison tool and provide opportunity for discussion.
