LAMP Business Meeting 9 May 2016 - 4:30pm

LAMP’s annual business meeting will be held Monday, May 9, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Charlottesville, VA.  LAMP member libraries fund projects to acquire and/or preserve rare and at-risk research materials related to the study of Latin America through an annual membership fee. Representatives of member institutions meet annually to discuss current and future projects and set priorities for additional acquisitions.

The Latin Americanist Research Resources Project (LARRP) will hold its annual meeting for members on Wednesday, May 11, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Charlottesville, VA.

PAN ALA Annual 2016, Orlando, FL 24 Jun 2016 - 9:00am

The Print Archives Network (PAN) forum is always held the Friday morning before ALA Midwinter and Annual conferences. All are welcome to attend and hear about new and best practices from the participating shared print initiatives. 
TRAIL (Technical Report Archive & Image Library) will hold an Information and Update session from 1:30 - 2:30 pm Eastern time on Sunday, June 26 in Orlando, in conjunction with the ALA Annual Conference.

CAMP Spring Meeting 22 Apr 2016 - 9:00am

The Cooperative Africana Materials Project (CAMP) will hold its Spring Business Meeting on Friday, April 22, in Gainesville, FL.
Held in conjunction with CRL's annual Council of Voting Members meeting, the 2016 Collections Forum will consider the meaning of responsible stewardship of collections at a time when digital resources are dominant.
The 2016 annual CRL Council of Voting Members Meeting will be held in downtown Chicago, at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center. This is the main CRL governance event, at which representatives of CRL libraries review new and ongoing CRL inititatives and elect new Board members.
This presentation will focus on optimal strategies for CRL member libraries implementing OCLC Discovery Services locally, including WorldCat and the Knowledge Base.

The Southeast Asia Materials Project (SEAM) will hold its annual business meeting in conjunction with the Association for Asian Studies Conference in Seattle on March 30.
Much work remains to be done to ensure scholars long-term access to electronic journals. How can the CRL community help Portico identify the journal content that is most important and most at-risk?
At this point in the age of digital technologies, electronic publications can be short-lived or unstable, while our understanding of digital preservation infrastructures is in the earliest stages. Three thought leaders offer their perspectives on how effective publishers' efforts to date are likely to be in meeting the needs of libraries and scholars by ensuring long-term access.
