This annual journal
is an important resource for scholars of Urdu history
and literature criticism and one that should be preserved.
The Digital South Asia Library has received permission
to digitize the material from Professor C.M. Naim for
the period of time he was editor of the journal, but
would like to ensure its preservation on microfilm as
well. Prof. Naim is willing to provide a set for the
period of his editorship.
Although many libraries hold the print editions,
this title has not been filmed. SAMP should consider
filming this as an archival copy of the material.
In addition, this proposal is seeking to explore models
of cooperation between SAMP and DSAL, where SAMP receives
preservation copies of material while DSAL makes it
available in electronic format. |
