v. Recommendations
DS take stock going in the directions. JS important to
know in broad strokes what we have done, what we might do
(e.g. filming personal collections).
DS examine MEMP cost. If we raised membership fees to x
amount, then what could we do?
Zellers was asked to relate her experiences with CAMP.
JZ - Nairobi proposes title for filming, James Howard, long
proposals, whether to put on agenda, official reports. Written
report which included a list of purchases. New Delhi office
filming Africana related titles. From Nairobi or LC. E-mail
quite a bit. Proposals shared. If LC buys something, if
LC buys something more than $1000 then justification has
to be written. Executive committee frequently communicates
by e-mail. Microform collections. Microfilm collections
different. University of Florida has an active newspaper
program. DRUM magazine.
SS - increase e-mail. CAMP institutions talk about what
they have bought or why not. Finding aid not good.
MH - Have you had a problem of duplication of effort? If
they have it we should have it, in other cases too expensive
I can spend my money elsewhere.
Consider micropublishers. JR microfilming projects have
their commercial complements. Direction we want a certain
finding aid.
