Saturday, May 6, 2006
11:30 am – 12 noon
Boston University
Boston, Massachusetts
Present: Peter Malanchuk (U Florida), chair; Edward Miner (U Iowa), secretary; Elizabeth Darocha Berenz (CRL), CRL representative; Ruby Bell-Gam (UCLA), past-chair; Laverne Page (LC), LC representative.
Miner will coordinate nomination and past-due election of secretary, at-large, and faculty representative positions.
Malanchuk will ask WARC (Yanko) if they can help host the West African meeting.
Bell-Gam will look at proposal Caruso submitted to see what the dollar amount CAMP committed to the West African meeting was. We all need to go back and check our notes. It might have been the African and Africa-related Archives subcommittee that talked about a $12,000 commitment.
Berenz will ask Woodson about the 2nd copy mentioned in the Corruption and Governance in South Africa proposal – what's it for?
Berenz will check on status of German Colonial Archives purchase – ongoing purchases already approved or no?
Berenz will check on requirements of data to be entered into AFRINUL. Does information on provenance need to be included?
Page will report our discussion around the World Digital Library project to Mary Jane Deib (AMED chief), so that she can get in touch with van Odenaren about African priorities for digitization.
