Executive Assistant to the President and Head of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives
Teletha Brown is Executive Assistant to the President and Head of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives. She works with CRL’s senior leadership, management and staff to develop and implement programs that promote equity, foster an inclusive culture, and advance CRL’s values and mission. Teletha has experience in Group/Organizational Behavior and Cross-Cultural Competence and is currently a PhD candidate in business psychology, concentrating on individual and group differences in the workplace as they relate to global diversity. She has nearly twenty years of experience at CRL, previously working as Human Resources Specialist as well as in the Communications and Membership department.
Gregory T. Eow, PhD, MLIS
Greg Eow is President of the Center for Research Libraries, responsible for setting strategic directions and overall CRL programming and services in collaboration with the CRL Board of Directors, CRL staff, CRL member libraries, and CRL strategic partners. Before joining the Center for Research Libraries in 2019, he served as the Associate Director for Collections at the MIT Libraries, where he led an administrative portfolio that included scholarly communications and collections strategy, digital preservation, acquisitions and metadata creation, and the Institute Archives and Special Collections. At MIT, he served as a member of the Editorial Board of the MIT Press, and as a member of the MIT Museum Collections Committee. Previously, Eow held appointments as Charles Warren Bibliographer at Harvard and as Kaplanoff Librarian for American History at the Yale University Library. Eow is a member of the American Historical Association, the Grolier Club, and the Society of American Archivists.
Director of Human Resources
Toni Kibort is Director of Human Resources. She is responsible for providing day-to-day and strategic human resource services and support. Prior to joining CRL she was an independent HR consultant for a broad range of clients, including Motorola, Discover Financial Services, and the Federal Home Loan Bank. Other previous positions include Manager of Human Resources for Metamor Global Solutions; Recruitment Manager for Kanbay, Inc.; and Director of Resources for Real Estate Research Corporation.
Raymond Sallay is Controller. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial operations of CRL. Sallay's primary duties include budget preparation, management of investments, and establishing controls to ensure effective governance. Previously he held accounting positions with the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, Omega Tax and Accounting, Chicago Park District, and the Illinois Primary Health Care Association.
Vice President, Collections and Services
James Simon is Vice President of Collections and Services. He coordinates CRL departments that build and care for CRL collections to serve CRL members and constituencies, including: Access Services, Stack Management, Facilities, and Technical Services. Simon is also director of the Global Resources Network, a collaborative initiative of major North American universities and research libraries promoting access to source materials for international studies. He oversees strategic collection partnerships and special programs supported by CRL including the World Newspaper Archive, International Coalition on Newspapers, and the Area Materials Projects. Previously he worked in Washington, D.C.,for the International Research & Exchanges Board as Program Officer for scholarly exchanges and partnerships with Russian and Slavic organizations.
Patricia Y. Xia
Director of Information Systems
Patricia Xia is Director of Information Systems. She oversees CRL’s technological infrastructure, networks, and computer systems to ensure optimal performance and alignment with organizational priorities. Xia is also responsible for developing, selecting, and implementing suitable technology solutions to streamline internal operations, enhance online services, and enrich user experiences for CRL members. Previously she was Head of Library Systems at Loyola University Chicago, and held information officer positions in a number of academic libraries, including Northwestern University and the University of St. Thomas.
