Communications Coordinator

This position’s primary responsibility is the editorial consistency and production workflow for all materials used in communicating the value of CRL’s resources and services to decision makers at member and peer institutions. Types of content include:  webinars; email newsletter; quarterly publication on collections; annual report; marketing materials and announcements; and social media. This is a part-time position, up to 21 hours per week.   The position reports to the Head of Communications and Development; also coordinates closely with a part-time staff writer.

Scope of Work Includes …

  • Assisting with formulating objectives so that the timing, content, and targeted audiences for various communication messages are effectively coordinated.
  • Writing some content and editing content written by others.
  • Coordinating  themes, topics and production deadlines of newsletters and publications
  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of webinars, including pacing, timing and monitoring questions from participants.

  • Ability to create audience appropriate text and write “to message.”
  • Ability to analyze project time-frames and dependencies, and conceptualize solutions.
  • Ability to initiate, lead and team build.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of professionals and other staff.
  •  Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate work across multiple internal task groups and organizational boundaries. 
     

Required Experience …

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience coordinating publishing production for organizations or agencies
  • Writing and editing for organizations, with an emphasis on academic materials.
  • Working with diverse groups of professionals and other staff
  • Coordinating work across internal task groups and organizational boundaries
     

Candidates trained and experienced using:  Web authoring software; Web content management systems (especially Drupal); and social media as a promotional communication tool are preferred.
