Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

Present: Ruby Bell-Gam (UCLA), chair; James Simon (CRL); Dorothy Woodson (Yale), secretary; Joanne Zellers (LC); Peter Limb (MSU).

Action Items

1. Bell-Gam will liaise with Phyllis regarding the Nigerian States Government Documents proposal.

2. Simon will provide additional information on the CW software from Mellon.

3. Easterbrook will pursue new memberships.

4. Bell-Gam will revise the English CAMP brochure

5. Following which, Woodson will work on the Arabic brochure.

6. Will need to update PDF version of the English and French brochures. (Simon)

7. Frank-Wilson will give Simon an inventory of the Liberian materials at Indiana.

8. Senegal – Limb will liaise with Caruso and the Task Force to create a list of talking points that can be used to approach funding agencies.

9. Mozambique National Archives—Page will liaise with the Task Force regarding a digitization/filming project involving field reports.

10. Bell-Gam requested that in future reports given to the Fall and Spring meetings be in written form. She also requested that the Archives Task Force write up the report that Caruso gave today on Senegal.

11. Simon will add Yale’s serials holdings to the IDC list and then forward to the others.

12. Limb will follow up on South African newspapers preservation and DISA related matters. CAMP would like him to represent us on DISA. Limb is exploring various ways in which cooperation between us can occur.

13. Zulu newspapers – Limb and CAMP will liaise, with possible inclusion of Yale. Bell-Gam will confirm whether Inkanyezi Yokusa film could be reproduced by UCLA.

14. Woodson will follow up on The Nambian.

15. Simon will talk to Malanchuk about Monitor.

16. Woodson and Page will follow up on Wal Fadjri.

17. Caruso and Malanchuk will attempt to acquire the fiche collection to the Hans Cory Collection.

18. Simon would like a wish list of purchase proposals by June. Bell-Gam will issue a call for proposals to membership.
